JUSTIFICATION

In the wake of the current need to integrate technology (ICT or TICS) and education, and especially regarding to our interest, the teaching and learning of English and other languages, this page is meant to be a medium for personal study, chatting among language students with or without the teacher, testing, and evaluations.

It is also meant for students of Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas and the corresponding assigned courses like Basic English, The study of language and communication, Design and methodology for secondary school. Similarly, it gonna be used with pupils at nursery and primary school levels for interactive online games and any other audiovisual aids online.

  • LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION 5TH SEMESTER

    Language has got to do with some conventions which may range from calligraphic forms or better letters that are culturally put together, given specific sounds, intonation, pronunciation in order to effect a cultural communication universally understood by all ascribed to that given substrate entity. At the same time, there are specific bodily languages only understood within the cultural confinement. Actions like nodding the head (which in some cultures may mean 'no' or in some others may mean 'yes'), the tilting of the eyes, the jostling of the neck, the movement of the thumb, a gin on the face, the facial movements and expressions, the beckoning of the fingers, etc. may be just but a few examples in making interactive moves in a given culture.

  • DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL 6TH SEMESTER

    Design and Methodology for secondary school is a space to reflect on the roles of the students and those of the teacher is creating a learning and formative environment rooted on academic reflections, the current teachings techniques and the general mind view from the curriculum proyecto of LEBEI. It is not however, a shopping list workshop on how to go about different thematic issues adscribed to the novice teachers, but a space to produce knowledge and so apply it at the distinct working areas with some adaptation to rightly fit specific contexts well known to teachers.

    So welcome and we share your experiences and knowledge on this matter.
